Practice makes close to perfect as facility producing sausages takes eighth machine

PFM Packaging Machinery has now installed eight machines from its Scirocco flow-wrapping range at sausage manufacturer Pilgrims Food Masters, home to the Walls and Richmond brands.

The new installation of the latest Scirocco design has gone into the company’s Hyde, Greater Manchester, factory. It can wrap the Pilgrim’s range at up to 120 packs per minute and will boost the packaging capabilities for some of the UK's best-known sausage brands. Known for their high standards and widespread consumer trust, these brands demand precise and efficient packaging solutions to maintain their esteemed market positions, says PFM.

Dean Grantham, engineering group leader at the Hyde site, says the company is delighted with the installation. “It has integrated seamlessly into our production line,” he says. “The smooth installation process ensured minimal disruption, allowing us to maintain our high standards of efficiency and continue meeting our production targets.”

The addition of the new Scirocco machine is set to streamline the Pilgrims Food Masters production line, PFM says, enhancing its ability to meet growing consumer demand while maintaining the exceptional quality that customers expect.
