Our BARA panel discussion took place on day two of Automation UK at the CBS Arena in Coventry 18 – 19 June 2024. Watch the rewind and find out ‘How automation can help drive out inefficiencies in manufacturing companies.’ Each panel member was able to give their input into this important question, and one that is often asked.
Philippa is a leading contemporary Industrialist and Honorary Senior Fellow of Industrial Automation and Innovation at the University of Liverpool. Former Managing Director of CNC Robotics a leading robotic integration SME based in the heart of Liverpool City Region and member of OMRON’s Industrial Automation UK Leadership Team. Philippa has recently founded a strategic advisory business to shape the future of industry to deliver a happier, healthier, and more inclusive world, drawing on her own experience to support the growth and development of start-ups, scale ups and the wider ecosystem in the UK. Philippa is a highly respected visionary hands-on leader and a trusted voice in the sector sitting on several progressive and influential advisory boards. She is passionate about storytelling and the role it plays in creating opportunities for growth.
George was elected to the BARA Council in 2020. He is an experienced account manager and sales engineer with a background in mechanical and industrial engineering, specialising in robotics and automation. George is also skilled in electrical wiring, troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits, continuous improvement programmes and manufacturing engineering.
Andrew was elected to the BARA Council in 2013. With a background in Mechanical and Production Engineering, Andrew currently holds the position of Sales Manager at RARUK Automation – a specialist supplier of innovative automation products, from industrial robots, linear axis systems and feeding solutions. He is also a member of The Institute of Engineering Technology (IET).
With 20 years of experience in factory automation, Oliver Selby brings a wealth of industry and product knowledge to UK manufacturing and engineering. He is passionate about strategically transforming the UK’s automation and manufacturing position on the global stage and this can be seen through his customer first philosophy and drive to improve businesses efficiency and profitability using modern technology.
Martin was elected to the BARA Council at the end of 2022 as a General Member Representative. He is an experienced engineer with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Electronics, is a Functional Safety Engineer (TUV Rheinland) and qualified to deliver the TUV (Saar) Engineers course. Martin has 20+ years’ experience in Industrial Engineering specialising in Functional Safety and is a recognised Functional Safety expert for Robotics and AGV/AMR applications at SICK and the BSI (Standards Committee member). As UK Product Manager for all SICK safety products, systems and services Martin has a deep passion for Safety and Automation.
