This webinar roundtable hosted by BARA has been organized to look at robotic machine tending and it’s rise to prominence in multiple areas of the manufacturing industry. During the webinar the panel of industry professionals discussed a range of topics about how machine tending is currently being used, the trends towards more companies employing robotic systems to automate their dull, dirty and dangerous tasks and how the implementation of these systems was approached by both system integrators and end users. We also looked at why companies invested in these systems and also why some companies looked at this technology and decided it was not right for them at this moment.

I started my Career at Rolls Royce in Bedford as an apprentice learning all aspects of engineering, everything from fitting, welding and machining. Once my apprenticeship had concluded I continued to work for Rolls Royce in the heavy engineering machine shop. I chose to leave Rolls Royce and travel the world whilst in my early 20's. When i returned from travelling in 2001 I worked for Microloc selling workholding solutions, from here I then began selling machine tools working for Bridgeport, then DMG MORI before finishing my machine tool sales career at Mills CNC in 2007, this is when I set up MTDCNC. To date I have continued running MTDCNC as the Managing Director. MTDCNC is a World leading platform providing manufacturing with daily news/insights and video media, educating manufacturers of tomorrow.
